I've finally gotten back to work on my Zodiac series. Here's Virgo. I want her to be way softer and more delcate than Libra was. Not sure whether I should darken the dress or leave it light as is? I definetely need to redo the hair. For some reason it never comes out right the first time around.

I've decided to close down my ebay store. I've had it for several years now and it's been a good source of extra income but it's been taking at least a couple of hours of my time daily. Between that, my art and a full time job, I've pretty much haven't had any life and have had been exausted forever plus I've really not have had much time to truly spread my wings in doing what I really love, which is feeling artsy. I've decided I need to give something up. I'd love to give up my job, but I still need to eat, pay mortgage and all the other bills that come with living our everyday life. Thus, I've decided to shut down my ebay store.
I have bad (sad) feeling about it since it took me a long time to get it properly going, organized and furnished with competitive invetory, but at the same time I feel releved and lighter somehow as more and more things dissapear from my closet full of inventory.
For the last two weeks, I've been working really hard on sales, packing, shipping etc, which is the reason for not posting any new paintings/ drawings lately. I've gone from over 200 multiple item listings to less than 50. Right now, everything in the store is on sale. All items have always been for less than 50% of retail, but now most of them are cheaper than what I've gotten them for. It's all lingerie. Let me know if you are interested in getting anything. I promise a steal:) Here's the link: MY EBAY STORE

Last night at our meeting the theme was paper. I went with card making as did all of the other members but one who decided on papier mache (they're to get on with blogging themselves - I'll make sure to paste links in here). I made 3 cards, one of them is a card / envelope in one and I just can't figure out how to scan it so unfortunatelly you won't be able to see it. But here are the other two:
I used stamps for the first time (got a bunch of used ones on eBay) and they are total fun. I get the stamping craziness now:)

Also, tonight was our first meeting with the AA's (Artful Arses). Our theme was paper, the meeting was great. I'll share my cards with out here tomorrow or as soon as I've taken some photos of them. Tried card making and stamping for the first time. It was real fun. Wine helped too:)

In anticipation of looking for a new job and quitting this one, I've decided to clean up my work computer and found this old photo of a watercolor painting I did about 6, 7 years ago. I think it's worth posting. The original is hanging at my sister's house:
Happy Friday Everybody!

I'm changing the head. I've actually erased the whole thing and started over. The hair still needs more shading, highlighting and stuff but I wanted to share my progress really quickly over here. I think I'm going to redo the scale too but now I have to go my book club meeting and will probably end up being gone the whole day. Please comment, praise or criticize (this spelling doesn't look right?). I take it all into consideration. Thanks and have a wonderful Saturday!!!
PS. I'm really proud of the way the boots came out:)

A little while ago I came up with an idea of painting 12 piece series of girls each representing one of the Zodiac signs. I even sketched the first two and then got too busy working on everything else. I've started back about a week ago and here's how far I've got:
I had to start with my own sign. I've been back and forth with this one for a week. I've redone her hair from the original blond to this silvery thing and eyes from blue to torquoise. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep them like they are or not. I kind of change something every time I start back on it. I'll post my progress soon. Stay on:)

I've decided to use my IF Renewal illustration in my renewed blog header. I'm very proud of myself because it took me forever to do it. Not the drawing part, the computer resizing, fitting, cropping, changing file type etc. part. Hope you like it.

Here are I am - the new renewed self along with my best helper - the crazy, fearless, paint brush inspector, tiger Jackaboo (...sorry kitty couldn't resist putting the ribbon on you..) and with my newest favorite accessory - sewing machine.
And I'm making IF on Monday instead of my usual Thursday. Phew. Total renewal of habits:)

Not all of my Christmas decorations are put away yet, but I wanted to get an early start on Valentine's Day merchandise. So here's my newest Baby in Belly.
As always it's going to go on T-shirts and things. My husband continues to tell me that these painting are disgusting, but in no way does this stop me. He hates the umbilical cord the most, but I continue to draw them, because I really enjoy it. I would also totally wear the shirts since I'm planning on being super pround, a total show off actually. Once I've finally gotten pregnant that is.However, this is what it looks like on a shirt:
I'm also continuing to enjoy my sewing machine that I got for my birthday last year. Thanks Mom!!! I've been doing pretty well and have actually worn my own creations. I'm thinking about going to the sewing expo this spring where I could learn some tricks and shortcuts and maybe some advanced techniques. Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked. Here's my first Valentine's Day maternity top and also my first sewn by me item for sale.

Happy New Year Everybody! It's 2010 already. Hard to believe. It's time for resolutions and new beggings. I'm sure the gym will be overcrowded for the next 2 months and then it'll go back to normal again. I'm not really big on resolutions, I usually go with whatever I decide to do any day of the year, however this year I did decide on something. It's more of a goal than a resolution and it's prety simple, I'm going to make everday an art day. I'm really excited about it. I won't necessarily finish a 30x40 piece everyday, but I'm going to do soemthing artsy everyday.
I actaully started off with a sketch today. Sorry that I won't share it but it's been a really rough day today. On the other hand, last night's party was great. Thanks Ewa!!! It made the all day hangover and headache worth it. Not really ready to do it again for another year or so though.:)
Have a wonderful year everybody. Hope all your dreams come true and that you can stick to all of your resolutions if you made any that is.
