I've changed my Stork Baby again. Here it is:

I'm really not good at all in photoshop so I had the hardest time with blending in the colors to get the right skin color. Not sure what my problem was. I guess I haven't used the program enough. I get confused with different brushes, opacity and stuff. It's just so different from the real thing. On the other (good) hand, my hands and clothes stay clean:)
Anyway, I like the little curl on his head. I think this is the last variation as far as the stork babies are concerned. I've covered several diffrent nationalities and I'm planning to move on as soon I've finished listing them for sale on cafepress and skreened.

I've gotten another store. It's on Skreened. So far, I'll be using the same designs I have on cafe press (boring I know) but this store is a little different. True, they have a lot less products to choose from but the awesome thing is - they all are ethically made (even the non-organic ones). All products incorporate environmental printing method with fashionable and ethically made American Apparel brand t-shirts
You can check it out by clicking on this cute little button:

I'm very excited to be able to sell on all of these different markets but I'm becoming a little anxious. It takes a long time to set it all up. Redo the files, upload, scale, describe, etc. and I've been kept away from creating new things. Unfortunatelly there's never enough time in the day to do it all.:)

I've been working hard on more Stork Babies. I've gotten Belgium, Russia, France, Italy, Ireland and other countries knocked out and posted on cafe press. Now, I've changed the baby some to show his/hers darker skin color. What do you think?
I've been uploading new countries to my store pretty much daily: www.cafepress.com/feelingartsy
Please let me know if you're looking for a specific one!!!

AA short for Artful Arses is a club that I've joined and partially created with 3 of my other friends. The goal is to meet once a month and do something creative.
Our first meeting was last night, we've exchanged Christmas gifts (they're all artful of course) and have talked about how we're going to go about our AA meetings. We've decided to go with themes instead of projects. Our first theme (unfortunatelly not until January ) is PAPER. Can't wait. I'll make sure to post some of our progress here.
By the way, one of the other Arses already has a blog that she hasn't kept up with, check it out:
http://paintandpurls.blogspot.com/  hopefully she'll get it going again.

I redid my Stork Baby design and changed it into this one. I've been looking for a shirt with a design like this one for myself but was not being able to find it, so I ended up making one myself. Now, it's available on all kind of products at www.cafepress.com for anybody who wants to show of their Polish pride.
I'm also planning on redoing it into different flags and countries. Just need to get on with it and do it:) Threre never seems to be enough time. Let me know if you're looking for a certain variation of this image. I think I'll be working on Italy next:)

Here's my newest design. I'm planning on going back to creating more Babies in Belly some time soon, but for now - I've moved on. Sort of:)

Saturday, December 5, 2009

One of these sold on Etsy today. This is my first sale of any of the Babies in Belly I've created. I'm very very excited. Hope the buyer loves her shirt and I also hope that this is the jump start of my t-shirt career. Can't wait to quit my job and make Feeling Artsy my full time occupation!!! :)

I've been wanting to insert a picture of myself in here for a while now, but figured that doing a self portrait instead would be a little more fun. So, here it is. I didn't use a mirror so there are no wrinkles and my nose is a little smaller but I hope that those of you who know me can see myself in it. What do you think?

I just couldn't resist and use something old this time. This is a picture of something that I painted on my dining room wall about 5 years ago. The guy on the right is leaning on my kitchen bar. And I just couldn't stop thinking how this is a perfect illustation for this week's topic - music.

Unbalanced. Looks like it. Is she? Heck no! This is just a jump and she's having the time of her life:)
This is a pretty quick sketch. I missed last week and there is no way I am missing two weeks in a row, but I had to hurry since it's already Thursday night. I used watercolor pencils again.

I've been working on these during the weekend. Here are the triplets. I know, I know, they're almost like the twins but I just couldn't resist.
And below is my Chistmas Baby in Belly. He / She is ready for the Holidays. It might be because it's coming during this Holiday Season or maybe because it just wants to participate in the celebration.

These are actually my last two of the series. For now anyway. They haven't been as successful as I've hoped and it's time to move on. I'm sure I'll revisit this topic soon but for now I'm planning on working on something else. :) I'll be sure to share it out here.

Here's  my skinny. Last week when I signed up for IF, I've decided to submit every week. I feel like it's a good way to stay regular with being artsy.
It's a sketch done with watercolor pencils that I got a long time ago from my dear friend Aga. I haven't used them until now and I have to say that they are pretty cool to work with.
The sketch itself is not as elaborate as I was hoping but I'm a little time constrained this week and I wasn't about not do it all this week.:)

My sister and I made these angels out of salt dough. I mean she mostly made them and I painted. We thought it'd be lots of fun and super easy, but it actually turned out to be hard and frustuating. It also took hours and hours. We were going to have this great little stand at the Christmas craft fair at the end of the month but we pretty much gave up on it about 5 hours into playing with dough and baking.
We have a whole new respect for dough crafters.
The angels came out pretty cool though. Here are my favorite two:

This is my first Illustration Friday submittal. This week's topic is Fast. I was originally working on some painting including a snail and a turtle, but then decided to go with this one instead. This is my next maternity shirt design and it made me realize how fast children grow, how fast they're ready to come to this world, have fast their ready to have their own personalities and be their own people. This Bayb is ready to come out and he/she's coming fast.

First of all, it's Friday! Yeay!!! Happy Friday everybody!!!

Second of all, I just bought my first digi stamp ever. I've never stamped with real stamps either so I'm not sure how this works but it pretty much seems like it's coloring and then incorporating the design into cards and stuff. I got it from http://digistampcharacters.etsy.com/  and it's pretty amazing what others do with those stamps. Here's an example.
And third of all - maybe most importantly - I got my first follower today:)

is this website where they have a weekly illustration challenge. A topic is posted each Friday and then participants have a week to come with their interpretation. I have just subscribed and can't wait for their next topic!!!

Is it still surfing when you're browsing blogs??? I'm having some problems with it, since there doesn't seem to be a way to browse blogs by subject, but I just kept on hopping from one onto another. Anyway, there are some awesome people out there. I'm completely wowed. They're very very creative, innovative, genius really. Some of the things they do I can't even wrap my mind around to figure out how they're done. And the ideas! Wow! I think I'm going to post some of my favorites here. Best Part:  http://tbpdesign.blogspot.com/  feels like a good one because it compiles so many different forms of creativity. Wow! Got to run. Back to surfing!

After I've finished with Baby in Belly, I thought about how twins would fit in. Here they are - my Babies in Belly. Should they be named Baybs? Not sure, nobody has really commented on Bayb as a name idea. I still kind of like it.
Working on this painting really made me realize how much more crowded the twins are. And yes Mary (my dear coworker and friend), I do know that this is not really how they are positioned in there:)
Here's this design on some products: www.cafepress.com/feelingartsy
Are triplets next? Triplets are in the making but in the meantime there'll be something else:)

You don't really realize how much you use your thumb until you halfway cut it off. Getting a little frustruated with it and myself. Can't really blog because it hurts, but painting is even harder. So here's my palette all sad waiting until I'm ready to use it again.

Here's my Baby in Belly design. I've been thinking of naming him / her Bayb but I'm not sure whether it's too cheesy.
It's a watercolor painting on Arches. (I'm totally in love with Arches!!!)
I thought Bayb would be perfect on maternity tees, hence my new account with cafe press: www.cafepress.com/feelingartsy
I've gotten a few comments so far. They varied anywhere from awesome to disgusting! What do you think?

So, here it is - my first blog. Feeling artsy? what does it mean?, you might ask. It's me - I'm the one who's feeling artsy. I always do, even when I wake up in the morning and I'm moody and mean and pretty much want to kill everybody around. What is it like to feel artsy? For me, it's feeling inspired by pretty much anything. You'd think: "everybody can get inspired by a gorgeous butterly flying by" but I'm thinking more in terms of really anything - a broken plate might inspire a mosaic, an old pair of shoes - a painting, a cat sleeping - a fuzzy set of pj's.
Why am I blogging about it though and boring you with it? I feel the need to do more, the want to put my ideas into tangible items instead of continuing to daydream. I feel that putting it out there in writing, will inspire me to actually stop doing everything else and take the time to paint, sketch, sew or whatever it is that's I'll get inspired to do.
